Want to Brighten Your Smile for Holiday Photos? Here's How

Dingy or yellowed teeth are nothing to smile about. Feel more confident and be camera-ready this holiday season with professional teeth whitening. It couldn’t be easier or more convenient.

Family Dental Care, in West Palm Beach, Florida, offers the best-in-class Opalescence®️Go at-home whitening Kit. Each Opalescence Go™ contains prefilled whitening trays that easily conform to any smile and are ready to use right out of the box.

The whitening gel is professional-grade, much more potent than what is in drugstore products. Opalescene Go is available in two strengths: 10% hydrogen peroxide and 15% hydrogen peroxide.

Here’s what the team at Family Dental Care wants you to know about professional teeth whitening.

Teeth age, too

Even if you take excellent care of your smile, your teeth still darken a few shades and appear yellower as you get older. This is partly the result of changes in the mineral structure of your teeth, and partly because of stains from the foods and beverages you consume over the years.

How to use

We recommend using the Opalescence take-home kit for a prescribed duration of 5–10 days, followed by a break. The specific wear time per day depends on the gel's concentration; for example, 15% hydrogen peroxide trays are worn for 15–20 minutes, while 10% hydrogen peroxide trays are worn for 30–60 minutes. After the initial treatment, you can touch up your results periodically to maintain your desired appearance. Safely whitens teeth up to 5 shade

Extend your results

To extend the results of your nearly whitened teeth:

Avoid foods that stain

Topping the list:

Berries are especially problematic, as they contain pigments that stain teeth.

Mitigate the staining power of berries and other dark foods and beverages by swishing some water around in your mouth to flush away food particles and rinse off your teeth after you eat them. And, whenever possible, brush your teeth afterward.

Eliminate tobacco from your life

We can list all of the health dangers associated with smoking, but you probably already know about the risk of heart disease, lung disease, and cancer. What you may not know is that tobacco also stains your teeth. Every puff coats them in nicotine and yellows the enamel.

Chewing tobacco is also a problem, as the tobacco comes into direct contact with your teeth. Stay away from smoking, and your white teeth stay whiter longer.

Keep up good oral hygiene.

Brushing and flossing are the best ways to avoid cavities and gum disease, and they’re also your best defense against staining and yellowing. Brush twice a day, floss once a day, rinse your mouth between meals, and visit us biannually for a checkup and teeth cleaning.
